Review of "Love bites" – Wattle publishing

The cruel face of love.

This book describes the love that conquers all; that occupy and even destroy people on their core. I really enjoyed reading it because there is a realistic aspect in it, even though most of the characters are born to be tortured.
It’s a short novel about how love "bites" us all. There is pain and fear but this is what real life is all about. The most amazing story for me was the first one where Carla loses her beloved husband and she gradually becomes one with the ground. Almost, not completely dead and in distance from her friends and family, and for God’s sake, from her life itself, is grieving for her other half that one day accidentally lost his life in the sea.
She is grieving her life, her husband, her house, her bed. Everything looks vain to her. The only thing that matters is to feel close to him. And she somehow achieves that by staying all day and night out of her house; above his grave. It’s eccentric, it’s insane, it’s way out of the ordinary but that’s the universe of Valeria Kogan.
Her characters are beyond any doubt fictional but so close to the truth; so close to the damage that real love does to a human being. All her characters suffer from love bites for real. It’s by far not a romantic novel; it’s all about REAL LOVE. It's a really enjoyable (if quick) read from a brand new author. I can’t wait for the second…
